Estate Platinum Transitional-Cut Diamond Ring
Estate Platinum Transitional-Cut VS Quality Diamond Ring with center ~15.73cttw round diamond brilliant. Framed by two pairs of @~.60cttw VS Quality Straight Diamond Baguettes on shoulders that create an illusion that the center diamond is elongated. Diamond was slightly modified about a dozen years ago from a 15.87cttw old mine-cut with an open culet to bring out the intensity of the hearts and arrows that dazzle the eye. It has the magic and scintillation that is intrinsic to old material. The center diamond is ~16.5mm and each baguette is ~6x1mm. The color of this antique diamond is called 'Cape' in traditional diamond circles and is known for its warmth and slight yellowish tint, which can be observed through the underside (pavilion) of the diamond. The intact open culet (bottom point of the diamond) from when it was originally faceted over 100 years ago allows light to wash out of the bottom of the diamond. The benefit of the open culet is that the diamond faces up right.
